Oru Thudakkathinte Katha
Oru Thudakkathinte Katha(Story of a Beginning) is a Malayalam short animated movie by Balaram J. The movie was his graduation film which was sponsored by Director Lijo Jose Pelliserry.

I had the chance to design the title for the movie at the beginning of 2020. The movie is an attempt to talk about the beauty in difference in beliefs through a simple story of three village kids. It believes that individual faiths and beliefs help in our personal quests to find the meaning of our lives, and hence we must learn to respect each other’s beliefs.

The title needed to have an organic character to it, something that induces curiosity and one that looks natural. Many materials and tools were used to explore the title as seen below. The final title was selected by combining different elements from the various options we had.
From all the explorations that were done, select forms from different titles were extracted and put together to create the final piece.
